FLIR GFx320: Intrinsically Safe Methane Leak Detection Camera

FLIR GFx320: Intrinsically Safe Methane Leak Detection Camera

Introducing the new FLIR GFx320 Intrinsically Safe Optical Gas Imaging Camera for the oil and gas industry. This camera’s Intrinsically Safe designation means it’s certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. This is a critical feature, as it can allow workers to safely enter more areas to scan for fugitive hydrocarbon emissions.

The GFx320 quickly detects and visualizes invisible hydrocarbon leaks, such as methane, and common volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at oil and natural gas facilities. Instead of trying to survey for leaks from afar – outside hazardous areas – workers can assess potential risks and, once the area is deemed safe, enter with the camera to continue their scans.

The GFx320 packs FLIR’s outstanding gas visualization technology in a camera that’s independently certified as safe for use in Class I Div II/Zone 2 hazardous areas. It is calibrated to measure temperature, which can be used to increase thermal contrast and make gases easier to see against the background scene.

The camera is verified to meet sensitivity standards defined in the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPEA) OOOOa methane rule, and it tags each recording with GPS data – meeting additional regulatory requirements for reporting.

The FLIR GFx320 is now available worldwide through established FLIR sales channels.
