TEHRAN, May 30 (RIPI) – The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and the Research Center of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) have signed a deal based on which the former has agreed to supply RIPI with ultra-centrifuges for use in upstream research projects carried out by the institute.
The deal was signed on Monday, May 30, in a ceremony attended by Ali Akbar Salehi, AEOI head, Mohammad Reza Moghaddam, deputy petroleum minister in research and technology affairs and caretaker of the engineering department of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, and Hamid RIPI Head Reza Katouzian in the institute's vicinities in Tehran.
AEOI on April 5 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with RIPI for offering engineering, operational, consultation and research services and cooperation to RIPI.
The MoU was outlined in 11 areas based on which AEOI will supply RIPI with 10 ultra-centrifuges with usage in upstream research projects.
After only two months since the MoU was signed, AEOI has carried out nearly 60% of the design for the centrifuges and will conduct the rest based on the deal it just signed with RIPI.
The machine is being put together based on the latest technological developments in centrifuge manufacture in the world.
